The Mt. Carmel Public Library Foundation was established in 1998. The funds were placed in trust and the income produced is used to support library activities and special projects. Income helps pay for new books each year, provide new computer equipment and needed furnishings. The Foundation hopes to assist the Mt. Carmel Public Library in 1) maintaining the latest technologies for patron and staff use, 2) building quality collections in a diversity of formats, and 3) providing programs and services to meet varied needs of the community.
